Eyes of a Child (song)
"Eyes of a Child" is a 1969 song by the progressive rock band The Moody Blues. Written and sung by the band's bassist John Lodge, "Eyes of a Child" is a two-part song, and both parts were recorded and released in 1969 on the Moody Blues Album To Our Children's Children's Children, a concept album inspired by and dedicated to the Apollo 11 moon landing.
The first part of the song, labeled "Eyes of a Child I" on the album, is the album's second track. The lyrics describe the accomplishments of space travel through a child's eyes, and how it gives a sense of hope. The second part of the song, titled "Eyes of a Child II", is the album's fourth track. Its lyrics are similar, but while part one is a melodic ballad, part two is in a minor key with a driving rock tempo. The two parts of the song are separated by "Floating" on the album.
